Asian scale in a case
Little equal arm beam scale made of brass. The beam is 3" wide and has two buckets, made of horn, on each end. The scale ( and also some ball weights ) find place in a small wooden box. The lid have nice floral carvings on the top. One side of the lid is fixed with a nail, the other side is closed with a folding lock.

There exist some newer reproductions of this kind of scale, which are made for tourists. The most of them have big carvings with animals and flowers on the lid.The carving is often from low detail and the wood have no real old patina. The scale is often from poor style and the pans are copper or brass.
